 Megalithic walls of Pallanum
 (10 min)
Pallanum was an ancient city founded by Italic People in the 6th c. B.C. in Pallano mountain area. It is 10 minutes from our house and it is possible to see Pallano mountain right from our balcony. I reccomend you to visit it in two different periods: during summer since you can camp there, during winter since it often snows and the atmosphere is really evocative! You'll find a big crumbling city wall made of huge stones and massive entrances.

Pietraferrazzana and Villa Santa Maria
(10 min - 15 min)
These are two distinctive villages that has to be seen, since they're really suggestive and you can reach them in less than 15 minutes! Pietraferrazzana is on the spur of a rock, where you can find the ruins of its medieval castle and rent boats and dinghies to row and sail in Bomba lake. You should not miss the 11th c. church of "Madonna in Basilica" and the culinary tradition of Villa Santa Maria, renowned throughout the region thanks to the Hotel Management School which gave the city the international title of "Città dei cuochi" (City of Cooks).

Roccascalegna and Tornareccio
(20 min)
In Roccascalegna you will find the striking construction of the medieval castle. It dates back to the 15th century, during the war between French Angevins and Spanish Aragoneses. If you reach the top of its main tower you will enjoy a mystical view. In Tornareccio you will see local apiaries, medieval towers, an archaeological site managed by Oberlin College, Oxford and Durham University. Walking along the alleys of the village, you will see figurative mosaics at the entrance of private houses.

Gessopalena and Borrello
(25 min)
Gessopalena is well know for its medieval area. From 1800 the village left uninhabited, so you can visit an area made of plaster formations: the ancient ruins.
In Borrello you can visit the most relevant natural waterfalls in the Apennines mountains. They're in the protected area (about 28700 ares) of "Rio Verde waterfalls". In this area you can go hiking among regional fauna and flora, in a green scenery full of rocks, spurs, mountains.
